July 31st, 2015, two female officers have advanced to the final phase of the Army Ranger school. Known for its rigorous training the Fort Benning Ranger school has turned out generations of the finest male Rangers.
These female officers were the first of a co-ed course at the Army Ranger School that started April 20th. The officers had to pass a Knot test, complete a 1.8 mile foot march up a mountain, and meet standard levels of a platoon level combat patrols.
The final phase will take them as well as 125 male officers to the swamp phase of the Ranger school at Eglin Air Force Base in Florida. After completing this phase the last trip will be back to Fort Benning on August 21st to graduate at victory pond.
