The Governor of Alabama, Robert Bentley, has ordered the Alabama National Guard to be armed. This came as a result from the recent shootings at Military Recruiting offices in Chattanooga Tenn.
Governor Bentley is not the only one to order Military members to be armed at recruiting stations. Seven other Governors around the country have allowed members of the National Guard to carry firearms. Including Governor Mike Pence of Indiana. Governor Pence stated that he wanted to assure the residents that the men and women who defend our country would be able to defend themselves.
In light of the recent attacks on military recruiting offices. The Secretary of Defense Ash Carter has ordered a review of security polices at military bases. In the meantime patriotic civilians have taken the lead to guard and protect National Guardsmen.
